Giving your Niteflirt listing a solid colored background
I've said in other tutorials that Niteflirt uses a funky primitive version of HTML. Basically, there are certain things you just can't do. Some of them make some kind of weird sense if you think about it a long time, and some of them make no sense at all.
Colored backgrounds fall into this second group. In any other HTML page you can use the tag
to give your page a black background, but this is not possible in Niteflirt. It is possible, however, to give your page an image background. This tutorial will show you how to use Paintshop Pro to make a solid color image to give your page a colored background.

First, open a new image. |
|
| Set it to a height and width of 100 pixels, then click "OK". |
|
Click in the upper color box on the Materials Palette. (If you don't see the Materials Palette, on the menu at the top of the page select View/Palettes/Materials and check it. It will appear. If it is floating around somewhere, you can drag it over to the righthand side to attach it to the right margin.) |
|
| The Material Properties window opens. I'm going to pick the dark green that the arrow is pointing at. |
The dark green color appears as the new color (1) in the box on the right. This is not the exact color I want. I am going to make it bluer by moving its position on the color wheel (2) and lighter by moving the position on the box within the color wheel.
| You can see how moving the positions on the color wheel and in the central box has changed the color. I like this one a lot better. Play with it until you find a color you like, and click 'OK'. |
| Select "Flood Fill". |
Fill your image with the color you have chosen by clicking in it.
